Our very own Marlowe McAfee tells us about Send It.
Send it is a family foundation that my late cousin started. Essentially what is does is it encourages young cancer patients to keep fighting by “sending it”. So what Send It does is it forms a community for these patients to go on outdoor trips like skiing, hiking, river rafting, whatever it is. Keep in mind most of these fighting are at an age where all their friends are getting married, having kids, or getting promotions at work so Send It connects these people and finds ways to help them fight together and encourage them to live each day like it is their last.
This is important to me because cancer has had such a big affect on my life. In the span of two years my family lost some of our closest family members. Send It was the reason my cousin kept fighting, and he left it in our hands to keep it going so that is what I want to do.
